New York Times Ends Online Subscription Fee

Effective midnight last night, the TimesSelect subscription thing ended, opening up the archive and all the secured content. The reasons why were kinda interesting -- they were making $10 million/year (!), but apparently advertising has a brighter future. I'm surprised that many people subscribed...

iPhone vs Blackberry

Interesting article at Slate about the iPhone versus the Blackberry. The author feels that the Blackberry is the clear winner. I have no idea, but I have one student (and one boss) with a Blackberry and one student with an iPhone, and the three of them seem to agree on most of the points raised here...
